ORDINANCE NO. 80-2202
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH BY AMENDING SECTION 17B -27(b) OF THE CITY CODE
TO INCLUDE THE REQUIREMENT THAT CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
ANY RENTAL PREMISES SUBJECT TO SAID CODE BE PAINTED
WHENEVER DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE CODE ENFORCEMENT
OFFICER; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 17B -27(b) of the City Code of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, the same being a portion of the
City of Miami Beach Minimum Housing and Commercial Property Standards
Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
(b) Every building shall be reasonably weather-
tight and rodentp roof . Floors, walls, ceilings
and roofs shall be capable of affording adequate
shelter and privacy and shall be kept in good
repair. Windows and exterior doors shall be
reasonably weathertight, watertight and rodent -
proof and shall be maintained in good working
condition. All interior and exterior parts of
the-9teture any rental dwelling subject to
this Section except hotel or motel units rented
on a less than annual basis that show evidence
of rot er-ether, deterioration or need for
repainting shall be repaired or,replaced or
repainted whenever deemed necessary by the Code
Enforcement Officer unless such surface is
covered by paneling, wallpaper or other similar
covering in which event such shall be thoroughly
washed and scrubbed whenever deemed necessary by
the Code Enforcement Officer. Whenever repair
or repainting of a portion of any interior part
shall be required, the entire interior of
that room shall be repainted.
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts
herewith be and the same are
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall go into
accordance with law.
