Resolution 1500_f, m401 mem mdkr RESOLUTION NO. 1,;uO A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF 0300,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election notice provided by the following resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That subject to the authorization of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are free- holders therein, and who are owners of and pay taxes on real property within said City, participating in the election which is hereinafter called, the negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sums and for the purposes stated in the notice of election provided in Section 7 of this resolution. Section 2. That a special election is hereby called and,. directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida,from eight o'clock A. M. until sundown on the llt : day of January, A. D. , 1927, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein, the question whether bonds of said City shall be issued in the sums and for the purposes stated in the notice of election provided for in Section 7 of this resolution. Section 3. That the City Clerk, who is also super visor of registration, open the registration books of said City from ten o 'clock A. M. until five o'clock P. M. each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until December 31st , 1926, for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified to register w r,, r y art,,^ for such election. T Section 4. That A. C. Akin Clint J. Dodson and Frank C. Heal be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and Hugh S. Larrick is hereby appointed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting said election at the time and plate aforesaid, which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. Section 5. That said inspectors and clerk shall certify the result of said election to said City Council within five days after the holding of said election. Section 6. That four weeks notice of said election be given by the Mayor of said City by posting, or causing to be posted, a notice hereinafter provided for at least twenty-eight days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous places in said City, to-wit: at the City Hall, at the Post Office and at the Police Station, and by publishing the same once each week for four consecutive weeks in the Miami Beach Beacon, a newspaper published in Miami Beach, Florida, and of general circu- lation in said City. Section 7. That said notice of election shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That an election has been called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and will be held at the City Hall in said City on the llth day of January, A. D. , 1927, at which there shall be submitted to the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders, therein, the following questions: (a) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 0195,000.00 for the purpose of paving its streets? (b) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 028,000.00 for the purpose of constructing storm and sanitary sewers? 2- T (c) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $30,000.00 for the purpose of developing and improving its public parks? (d) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $35,000.00 for the purpose of bulkheading waterways within said City? (e) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $12,000.00 for the motor trucks as purpose of purchasing/equipment for its street and sewer departments? Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said time and place . The registration books will be open from ten o'clock A. M. until five o'clock P. M. each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until and including December 31st , 1926, for the registration of persons qualified to register for saiE election. LOUIS F. That the form of ballot to be used at said election shall be in substantially the following form: - CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, BOND ELECTION January 11th 1927. Make a cross (x) before your choice. Here shall be inserted the propositions set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution and at the end or immediately after each such proposition as set f a th, there shall be printed a short line , followed by the word "YES" and a short line , followed by the word "NO". -3- Section 9.
