AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14A-12 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR AN INCREASE IN THE
SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL
OF GARBAGE AND TRASH; PROVIDING FOR PASSAGE
AS EMERGENCY MEASURE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 14A-12 of the Code of the City of Miami
Beach be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 14A-12. Schedule of fees for collection and disposal
of garbage and trash.
A. Residence (single-family) $ 5755 per month. $11.10
B. Duplex 5755 per month
per unit. 11.10
C. Apartments 3:44 per month
per dwelling
unit. 6.94
D. Hotels 1-39 per month
per room. 2.78
E. Rooming houses 4-66 per month
per room. 3.32
F. Commercial:
1. Offices and places not engaged
in sale of goods 2-44 per month 5.54
2. Commercial establishments, or
any place engaged in the sale of
goods 13787 per month 27.74
3. Restaurants, including those in
hotels or other buildings 1-94 per month
per seat. 3.88
The director of public works, with the approval of the city
manager, shall have the authority to adjust base fees upwards
or downwards, as the case may be, where, in particular instances,
the accumulation of refuse exceeds or falls below that for which
the base fee is established.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, having found and determined that a public
emergency exists affecting life, health, property or public
safety, this Ordinance is hereby adopted as an emergency measure
and shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
