SUBJECT: Mayor's North Beach Committee
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission (LTC) is to inform the Commission of
several motions passed by the Mayor's North Beach Committee at their October 26,
2017 meeting.
Members Present: Margueritte Ramos (Chair), Brad Bonessi, Carolina Jones, Kirk
Paskal, Betsy Perez, Susanne Torriente (non-voting member) and Daniel Veitia
MOTION: to support and encourage Miami Dade College and the City of Miami
Beach to work towards bringing a satellite campus to North Beach.

Motion Passed: Unanimously (6-0)
MOTION: to request funding be allocated by the City for signalization of Collins
at 79th Street and Collins at 83rd Street as the project has been approved by
FDOT but will not be funded by FDOT until 2023. Therefore, City funding will be
reimbursed by FDOT at that time.

MOTION: to extend the pilot street closure of Rue Vendome from 90 days to 120
days.

MOTION: to pursue Option 1 of a custom pump track for 75K to be built within 4
weeks and to evaluate any additional funding needed from the original skate park
fund.

MOTION: to request that the Commission reallocate funding from the 87 Park
contribution to the completion of North Shore Open Space Park.

MOTION: to 1) adopt signage option 2 with a white structure and blue and green
signage; 2) adopt bridge lights option 1 B; 3) Tatum Bridge to be restored by
