RESOLUTION NO. 1580
WHEREAS , a vast amount of property was washed away, in,-
eluding the County highway leading to and beyond the bridge
spanning the cut in what is known as "Baker' s Haulover District" ,
during the tropical storm in September, 1926, and
,
WHEREAS, to date there has been practically no progress
made whatsoever in the work of reconstruction of this property
and road although some seven months have elapsed, and
WHEREAS, it seems impractical and inequitable that the
..
vast expense which is necessarily involved in the re-establish-
ment
of this County highway to and from the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, should be borne by so limited a territory as
the present Baker' s Haulover District,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the County Commissioners of
Dade County, Florida, be and they are hereby urged to take over
this reconstruction project at the earliest possible date in ,.,..
order that same may be carried forward to an early completion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of the State
of Florida be and they are hereby urged to take such action at
their present session as is necessary to clothe the said Dade
,
County Commissioners with proper authority to take over said
project. _.
