I am pleased to welcome Elizabeth W aton back to her position as director of the
Environment & Sustainability department after a brief year of service as Mayor Levine's
Chief of Staff. I know that she gained a great deal of knowledge and insight in that
position which will add to her already successful career.
I am also happy to announce that I am promoting Margarita Wells to Assistant Director
of Environment & Sustainability. Margarita has been acting director for the past few
months and has performed in an outstanding manner. She led the department with
passion and dedication. She will serve in a dual capacity as assistant director and
environmental manager.
I want to thank Elizabeth and Margarita for stepping up and serving the city in two new
and exciting opportunities. I also want to recognize the entire team at Environment and
Sustainability for quickly adapting and making sure the department succeeded and
delivered the services our residents deserve; they are a model of teamwork and
collaboration.
