ORDINANCE NO. 81-2267
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPH (D) (1) OF
SECTION 2 . 52 OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
• MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA" BY PROVIDING DENTAL
COVERAGE TO RETIRANTS , PENSIONERS , AND DE-
PENDENTS AND ELIMINATING THE MAXIMUM LIMITS
OF LIABILITY FOR SUPPLEMENTAL GROUP HEALTH
COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES , RETIRANTS PENSION-
ERS , AND DEPENDENTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVER-
ABILITY, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That paragraph (d) (1) of Section 2 . 52 of the "Code of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, " shall be amended to
read as follows :
" (1) Eighty percent (80%) of the remaining
balance of costs for hospitalization, med-
ical and surgical service after Medicare
payments , tip-te-the-rftax+ . .lt-eentraet-i+xt. is
e4-i+a15+]ity as prescribed for all regular
employees participating in the City employ-
ee ' s benefit plan, exeept-Dental-Sere+ee
shall continue to be furnished to such em-
ployees , retirants , pensioners and depen-
dents age-s4mty- ve-and-ever. (Ordinance
No. 1107 , Section 1; Ordinance No. 1583 ,
Section 1; Ordinance 1745 , Section 1) . "
SECTION 2 : SEVERABILITY. If any section, sub-section, sen-
tence , clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance
is , for any reason , held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate ,
distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3 : REPEALER. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4 : This Ordinance shall go into effect on October 1, 1981 ,
upon its passage in accordance with law.
