Morales, City Manager DATE: November 13, 2017 SUBJECT: PARKS & RECREATIONAL FACI TIES ADVISORY BOARD MOTIONS LETTER TO COMMISSION The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L C) is to inform the Mayor and Commission of the four motions passed by the Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board at its meeting of November 1, 2017: MOTION 1: The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board motions to accept schematic number one for the new North Shore Tennis Center restrooms while ensuring that the doors are full length, are labeled as male and female and marking the ADA stalls as unisex and family. Motion Made by: Robert Gonzalez Motion Seconded by: Lori Nieder Motion Passes: 9-0 (Motion Passes) Members Present for Motion: Robert Gonzalez, David Berger, Jonathan Groff, Carolina Jones (Chair), Wil Martinez, Lori Nieder, Stephanie Rosen, Paul Stein and Dana Turken Members Not Present for Motion: Lee Zimmerman MOTION 2: The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board motions to keep both exterior doors in the design of the new cafe at the North Shore Tennis Center, allowing access to the cafe from both the West and East sides of the building while restricting access to the tennis courts to only through the tennis center. The single building would replace the existing building and hitting wall area and be built at the current required elevation level, thereby eliminating ramps, other than at the entrances. The new building should aspire to LEED certification, yet be designed and engineered with rooftop seating in mind.
