WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, did,
by Resolution, on June 24th, 1925 , authorize an election for bond
issue for ocean front improvement , such election to be held July
Xirt 31st , 1925 , and,
{ WHEREAS, such election was held on July 31st , 1925, and the
wx issue of bonds in amount of
300,000.00 was authorized for ocean
front protection, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, did,
on February 24th, 192b, vote to issue 300,000.00 of bonds in
}s accordance with the mandates of the election held on July 31st ,
1925 , and,
WHEREAS, $265 ,000.00 par value of said bonds were sold for
$ 276 ,450.00 , in accordance with resolution of the City Council
of March 16th, 1927 , and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Miami Beach did call for bids
for ocean front improvement work by resolution on May 11th, 1927,
said bids to be received June 1st , 1927 , and,
i WHEREAS, said bids were not opened on June lst , 1927, for
tAi the reason that in the meantime , the Legislature of the State of
Florida, hats passed House Bill No.1692, of the Special Acts of
the State of Florida. of 1927, and
WHEREAS, Claude A. Renshaw, Walter A. Kohlhepp, Jno. C.
Knight , J. E. Lummus and T. J. Pancoast , acting as the Dade County
Ocean Front Portective Commission, created by House Bill No.1692
of the Special Acts of the Legislature of the State of Florida_ of
1927, did approve certain plans for the protection and improvement
of the ocean front of the City of Miami Beach, said plans being
known as Dade County Ocean Front Protective Commission Plan No. 1,
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, and
the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County, and the Dade
County Ocean Front Protective Commission, did, in joint meeting,
of on June 24th, 1927, unanimously approve said plans for said ocean
front protection, the same to be known as Dade County Ocean Front
Protective Plan No. 1, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach , has
heretofore caused to be deposited by the City Clerk, to the credit
of the said Dade County Ocean Front Protective Commission, $250,000„
by Resolution No. 1629 of the City Council, of the City of Miami
Beach, adopted July 6th, 1927, to be expended for said ocean front
protection in accordance with the purpose for which said bonds were
issued and sold, and,
WHEREAS, the said Claude A. Renshaw, Walter A. Kohlhepp, Jno.
C. Knight , J. E. Lummus , and T. J. Pancoast , acting as the Dade
County Ocean Front Protective Commission, at the direction and with
the approval of this Council, entered into a contract with G. 0.
Reed , Inc. , for the construction of sea walls, jetties and proper
supports in accordance with bids submitted by the said G. 0. Reed,
Inc. , to the City Council of the City of Miami Beach , said contract
being entered into, the 12th day of July, A. D. , 1927, for the pur-
poses of such ocean front protection, and,
WHEREAS, certain payments have been made under this contract
with G. 0. Reed, Inc. , and certain other payments have been made
by the said Dade County Ocean Front Protective Commission, in order
to carry out the said ocean front protective work, all of which pay-

ments were made with the consent and authority of this Coun-
. cil, and all of which are set forth more in detail hereinafter,
and all of which were, and are considered by this Council as
its act and deed,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Beach, that the payments set our hereinafter , and
the contract entered into with G. 0. Reed, Inc. , by Claude A.
Renshaw, Walter A. Kohlhepp, Jno. C. Knight , J. E. Lumru,^ end
T. J. Pancoast , acting as the Dade County Ocean Front Portective
Commission, having made, as aforesaid, by and with the consent

44C and at the direction of this Council, be , and are, now and here-
by again, in all things, fully approved by the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, and that by this Resolution, such pay-
ments and contract are accepted and formally adopted by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beech, as having beem made and exe-
cuted at their behest and in behalf of the City of Miami Beech,
and made and executed with the full approval and authorization
of the City of Miami Beach.
