SUBJECT: North Beach Log Cabin, 81A Collins Avenue — Recommendation of Historic
Preservation Board
On November 14, 2017, the Historic Preservation Board discussed the log cabin structure
located at 8128 Collins Avenue. During the discussion, the Board requested that Planning staff
provide additional information regarding the potential historical significance of the structure. This
information will be discussed by the Board at its December 18, 2017 meeting.
Additionally, the Board recommended that the Mayor and City Commission provide protection for
the log cabin structure or salvaged components in the event the structure is disassembled.
The Administration recommends that the City Commission consider the above noted
recommendation of the Historic Preservation Board and provide appropriate policy direction.
