Resolution 1714 mew New mew mew mew RESOLUTION NO. 1714 RESOLUTION REQUESTING, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MIAMI BEACH RAILWAY COMPANY TO TEMPORARILY ABANDON THE OPERATION OF BUSSES UNDER ITS FRANCHISE IN MIAMI BEACH, ALONG ALTON ROAD BETWEEN LINCOLN ROAD AND DADE BOULEVARD, AND TO SUBSTITUTE THEREFOR A ROUTE ALONG DADE BOULEVARD BETWEEN ALTON ROAD AND MERIDIAN AVENUE, AND SETTING FORTH ' PROVISIONS RELATING THIRETO. WHEREAS, The Miami Beach Railway Company has been reauested by the City of Miami Beach to temporarily abandon the operation of busses under that certain franchise granted to The Miami Beach Railway Company, by Ordinance No. 205, passed and adopted by the City Council of Miami Beach on April 9th, 1924, along Alton Road, between Lincoln F Road and Dade Boulevard, and to substitute for the abandoned part of iVsaid street a route along Dade Boulevard between Alton Road and Meridian Avenue, and WHEREAS, this change in the route over which the busses of The Miami Beach Railway Company will operate will give to Miami Beach a more adequate transportation system, and WHEREAS, The Miami Beach Railway Corn any has agreed to make this change as hereinafter provided, i. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MIAMI k" 1 BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. That the City Council does hereby request and give F� its approval and authority to The Miami Beach Railway Company to tem- porarily abandon the operation of busses under that certain franchise granted to The Miami Beach Railway Company by Ordinance No. 205, II passed and adopted by the City Council of Miami Beach on April 9th, 1924, along Alton Road, between Lincoln Road and Dade Boulevard, in the City of Miami Beach, and to substitute for the abandoned part of said street, a route along Dade Boulevard between Alton Road and Meridian Avenue. Section 2. That this resolution shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the City Council and its acceptance by The Miami Beach Railway Company and shall remain in force and effect until terminated by the City of Miami Beach or The Miami Beach Railway Company upon the giving of five (5) days' written notice by either to the other. 1 Section 3. Section 4. That this resolution shall not repeal any portion of Ordinances Nos. 205 and 251, or any portion of other ordinances in the City of Miami Beach, concerning transportation. Gentlemen: The Miami Beach Railway Company does hereby accept Resolution No. 1714, passed and adopted on the 4th day of January, 1928, by the City Council of Miami Beach, Florida, "requesting, approving and authorizing The Miami Beach Railway Company to temporarily abandon the operation of busses under its Franchise in Miami Beach, along Alton Road between Lincoln Road and Dade Boulevard, and to substitute therefor a route along Dade Boulevard between Alton Road and Meridian Avenue, and setting forth provisions relating thereto. " This instrument is filed with the City Clerk of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, under Section 2 of said Resolution No. 1714.
