AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1901 BEING
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR GENERAL
EMPLOYEES AND ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, BY ADDING A NEW PARAGRAPH
THERETO RELATING TO COST OF LIVING INCREASE IN
PENSION OR RETIREMENT ALLOWANCES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA :
ARTICLE 1. That Section 5. 09 of Ordinance No. 1901 of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida be and the same is hereby
amended by adding a new Paragraph thereto following Section (d)
to be lettered and to read as follows :
" (e) Effective October 1, 1974, those retirants
and pensioners who were on the retirement payroll
prior to July 1, 1969, shall receive a special
cost of living increase in their pension or
retirement allowance equal to ten percent of the
amount of their pension or retirement allowance
payable on October 1, 1974. "
ARTICLE 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
ARTICLE 3 . This Ordinance shall become effective as of October 1,
1974.
ARTICLE 4. This Ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
passage and posting as required by law.

having been passed and adopted by. the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me at the door of the City Hall
in said City on the 15th day of January , 1975 ,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said
City of Miami Beach.
