Resolution 1826 mow 11S . _ RESOLUTION NO. 1826 RESOLUTION PROTESTING AND OBJECTING TO THE SALE OF CERTAIN BELOW DESCRIBED PROPERTY BY THE TRUSTEES OF THE INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT BOARD OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA. WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,that the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Board of the State of Florida, propose to sell and have advertised for sale that property described as follows to-wit: Lot 1 of Section 9 , Lot I of Section 17 , Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Section 20, Lots 1 and 2 of Section 21, All in Township 514 South, Range 42 East containing 66.12 acres, more or less. and, WHEREAS, the purchase of this property by any one other than the proper public authorities would materially interfere with and jeopardize the proper development of the Harbor and Airport now planned for the greater Miami area, and WHEREAS, there are now plans and specifications prepared for the development of this particular land and adjoining lands -Zor the proposed construction of a great combined Seaport and Airport for said area; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, 1. That the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Flor- ida, hereby strenuously object to and protest the proposed sale of the above described property as above planned, as the sale of same would seriously interfere with and be a material detriment to the development of a suitable Harbor and Airport for this area, which said development would be of great benefit to nation- al and international trade both by sea and air, 2. That the City Manager of the City of Miami Beach be and he is hereby authorized and directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Internal Improvement Board of the State of Florida, with letter of explanation.
