AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
AMENDING §44-27A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH; PROHIBITING THE PARKING OR STOPPING OF
VEHICLES IN OFF-STREET PARKING SPACES DESIGNATED
FOR THE USE OF THE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED; INCREASING
THE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR
REMOVAL OF VEHICLES PARKED IN VIOLATION HEREOF;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; PRO-
VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1
That Section 44-27A be amended by the addition of the following
language :
Persons convicted of violating this section shall be
subject to a fine of not less than $58788 $150 . 00 .
Vehicles parked in violation hereof shall , at the
direction of the City of Miami Beach Police Depart-
ment, be removed by a person regularly engaged in
the business of towing vehicles.
SECTION 2 REPEALER
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 SEVERABILITY
If any article, section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or
portion of this ordinance is, for any reason, held invalid or un-
constitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion
shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and
such holding shall not effect the validity of the remaining portions
of this ordinance.
SECTION 4 EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days after adoption in
accordance with law, on
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of June , 1983 .
