AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER
2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH BY
DELETING SECTION 2-6;B; 1 (c) THEREUNDER,
THEREBY REMOVING THE BEACH PATROL DIVISION
FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND ADDING
SECTION Q THEREUNDER; THEREBY CREATING A
DEPARTMENT OF BEACH PATROL; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1:
That Section 2-6;B;1 (c) of the Code of the City of Miami Beach is
hereby deleted.
SECTION 2:
That Section 2-6 of the Code of the City of Miami Beach be amended
as follows:
2-6 Enumeration of organizational units, administrative
officers or agencies and their units.

1. Beach Patrol - Chief
2 . Beach Patrol - Captain
3 . Beach Patrol - Lieutenant
4 . Life Guard II
5. Life Guard I
SECTION 3: REPEALER
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be
and the same are repealed.
SECTION 4 : SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection, clause or provision of this ordinance
is held invalid, the remainder shall not be affected by such
invaldity.
SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall take effect 10 days after its adoption on
February 11th . 1984.
