Ordinance 84-2407 ORDINANCE NO. 84-2407
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 8 OF THE MIAMI
BEACH CITY CHARTER AND SECTION 2-1 OF THE
MIAMI BEACH CITY CODE, PROVIDING THAT THE
CITY COMMISSION MAY CANCEL AND/OR CHANGE THE
DATES AND STARTING TIMES OF CITY COMMISSION
MEETINGS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; PROVIDING FOR PASSAGE AS AN EMERGENCY
MEASURE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That that portion of section 8 of the Miami Beach
City Charter which reads as follows:
The city commission shall meet at such times
as may be prescribed by ordinance or
resolution except that it shall meet
regularly not less than twice each month.
is hereby amended to read as follows:
The city commission shall meet at such times
as may be prescribed by ordinance or
resolution.
SECTION 2. Section 2-1 of the Miami Beach City Code shall be
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2-1 Eettne41 Commission - Time of meetings. All regular
meetings of the city eetene41 commission will be held at 9 :30
a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each and every month.-;
provided, however , that the city commission may from time to
time cancel and/or change the dates and starting times of the
meetings as it deems advisable and proper .

SECTION 3 . Repealer . All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any section, part of section,
paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declared
invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be
affected.
SECTION 5. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage
as an emergency measure.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of April , 1984
as an emergency measure.
