AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 44-27A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA REDUCING THE PENALTY FOR
PARKING IN SPACES DESIGNATED FOR THE USE OF THE
PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED IN VIOLATION OF SECTION
44-27A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDAFROM $150. 00 TO $100. 00; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 :
That Section 44-27A of the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida
be and the same is hereby amended to read :
Section 44-27A. Prohibition of parking or stopping in
parking spaces designated for the use
of the physically handicapped.
The parking or stopping of motor vehicles in off-street
parking spaces , owned, operated , leased or licensed by the
City of Miami Beach and designated for the use of the phys-
ically handicapped , except those displaying a motor vehicle
license plate issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles and
displaying the internationally-accepted wheelchair symbol ,
handicapped parking permit or disabled veteran motor vehicle
license plate is prohibited .
Persons convicted of violating this section shall be subject
to a fine of not less than ene-hendt.ed-fl€ty-dellefs7 one
hundred dollars .
Vehicles parked in violation hereof shall, at the direction
of the City of Miami Beach Police Department , be removed by
a person regularly engaged in the business of towing vehicles .

SECTION 2 . REPEALER
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be
and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 . SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection, clause or provision of this Ordinance
is held invalid , the remainder shall not be affected by such
invalidity.
SECTION 4 . EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall take effect on October 1 , 1984 .
