Resolution 1955 RESOLUTION NO. 1955 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUB- MITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF THE ISSU- ANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF $ 300,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amount and for the municipal purpose set forth in the election notice provided by the following resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That subject to the authorization of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein, and who are owners of and pay taxes on real property within said City partici- pating in the election which is hereinafter called, the ne- gotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sum and for the purpose stated in the notice of election provided in Section 7 of this reso- lution. §ECTION 2. That a special election is hereby called and directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from eight o' clock A. A_. M. until sundown on the 4th day of June, A. D. 1929, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein, the question whether bonds of said City shall be issued in the sum and for the purpose stated in the notice of election provided for in Section 7 of this resolution. SECTIO_N_3. That the City Clerk , who is also super- visor of registration, open the books of said City from ten o' clock A. M. until four o' clock P. M. each day, Sundays, holidays and half holidays ex- cepted, from this date until May 28th, 1929, for the pur- pose of registering those persons who are qualified to register for such election. • SECTION 4. That Tom Koons, Wm. C. Heins and Jeremiah Weiss be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and W. B. Leddy is hereby appoint- ed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting said election at the time and place aforesaid, which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. SECTION 5. That said inspectors and clerk shall cer- tify the result of said election to said City Council within five days after the holding of said election. SECTION 6. That four weeks notice of said election be given by the Mayor of said City by posting, or causing to be posted, a notice hereinafter :fix•.{ ....c . provided for at least twenty-eight days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous places in said City, to-wit: at the City Hall, at the Miami Beach Police Sta- tion and at Fire Station No. 2, and by publishing the same once each week for four consecutive weeks in the Miami Beach Sun, a newspaper published in Miami Beach, Florida, and of general circulation in said City. SECTION 7. Ninety-Five and Seven-Tenths (195.7) feet , more or less,to a point at the Southwest cor- ner of the said First Addition to Whitman' s Subdi- vision of Espanola Villas; thence Easterly along the Southerly Line of the said First Addition to Whitman' s Subdivision of Espanola Villas for a dis- tance of Three Hundred Ninety-Nine and Eight-Tenths (399.8) feet , more or less„to a point on the Wester- ly Line of said Meridian Avenue; thence Southerly along the said Westerly Line of said Meridian Avenue for a distance of Sixteen Hundred Seventy-Seven and Four-Tenths (1677.4) feet , more or less,to the point of beginning, containing Thirty-Six and Fifty-Three hundredths (36.53) Acres, more or less, except streets and alleys duly dedicated to the public and accepted. Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said time and place. The registration books will be open from ten o' clock A. M. until four o' clock P.
