Morales, City Manager DATE: November 30, 2017 SUBJECT: Indian Creek Drive Flooding Mitigation Project Update — Collins Avenue to Fully Reopen to Traffic The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to provide an update on pending traffic patterns associated with the Indian Creek Drive Flooding Mitigation Project. Due to the installation of the 72 inch diameter drainage trunk line and construction of a pump station, southbound Indian Creek Drive has been closed and traffic detoured to Collins Avenue which has been transformed to two way traffic to between 36 Street and 26 Street. On Friday, December 1, 2017, the traffic delineators will be cleared to return Collins Avenue to a one way street with three (3) travel lanes in a northerly direction. Work will continue along Indian Creek Drive which will necessitate travel lane reductions to one lane through the work area from 33 Street to 26 Street. The traffic barriers separating the north bound and south bound traffic from 26 Street to 24 Street will need to remain. Please see the attached Project Update. The Public Information Officer for the project, Heather M. Leslie of HML Public Outreach, is maintaining regular communication with area residents and businesses and is releasing weekly advisories for the project to notify them of project updates and upcoming construction. The Communications Office will also be distributing information regarding this closure and detour. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
