A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CO-NAMING
THAT PORTION OF 19TH STREET LOCATED BETWEEN
CONVENTION CENTER DRIVE AND MERIDIAN AVENUE AS
"JERUSALEM STREET" FOR THE BALANCE OF 1996.
WHEREAS, 1996 is the 3000th anniversary of the City of
Jerusalem and, in celebration thereof, cities worldwide are
renaming streets in honor of this City; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1996, the Community Affairs Committee
considered a proposal to co-name that portion of 19th Street
located between Convention Center Drive and Meridian Avenue as
"Jerusalem Street" for the balance of 1996 and submitted said
proposal to the Mayor and City Commission for approval; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article V of Miami Beach City Code
Chapter 39, the Mayor and City Commission held a public hearing to
consider the aforesaid co-naming and voted in favor thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the portion of
19th Street located between Convention Center Drive and Meridian
Avenue is hereby co-named "Jerusalem Street" for the balance of
1996.
