RESOLUTION NO. 1983
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Miami ,
Florida, to extend its territorial limits so as to in-
clude the territory as indicated on the attached plat
as surrounded by red lines, and which includes all of
VIR1INIA KEY and part of BISCAYNE KEY; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of said City of
Miami to cause to be introduced in the present session
of the Legislature of the State of Florida, a Bill for
said purposes; and
WHEREAS, also , it is the desire of said City of
Miami to have the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida indicate its waiver of objec-
tions to the introduction and passage of said Bill ,
provided, that said Bill shall contain a provision of
referendum to the voters of said City of Miami Beach,
before becoming effective.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and
City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,. that
it hereby waives it objections to the introduction and
passage in the Legislature of the State of Florida of
a Bill to extend the territorial limits of the said
City of Miami , so as to include the above described ter-
ritory , only.
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that said Bill shall be so
drawn and framed that it shall not become operative and
effective until approved by a vote of the electors of
the said City of Miami Beach in accordance with Section
61-A of Chapter 7672 Laws of Florida, being the munici-
pal charter of City of Miami Beach , which said election
the said Mayor and City Council hereby agree to call
within Ninety (90) days after the passage of said Bill.
