RESOLUTION NO. 2003
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA .
WHEREAS , it hes come to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Miami Beech that a bill has been
introduced in the State Senate seeking to annex VirTinia
Key , which is now embraced within the territorial limits
of the City of Miami Beech , to the City of Miami , with-
out a referendum of the qualified voters of the City of
Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, a 're(7, t and irreparable injury will be
done to the City of Miami Beach should this bill become
a law ,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Miami Beech that the said City Council
does hereby respectfully but most vigorously protest
against the acquisition by any municipality of any of
the territory now embraced within the territorial limits
of the City of Miami Beech until approval shall have been
7iven by the qualified electors of the City of Miami
Beech , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Mana7er is
hereby instructed to transmit a certified copy of this
resolution to each of the followin7:
