A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLOR-
IDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT 7HICH
SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE
MATTER OF RATIFICATION OF THE
ZONING ACT OF THE LEGISLATURE OF
THE STATE OF FLORIDA, MORE PARTI-
CULARLY KNOWN AS CHAPTER 9837 OF
• THE SPECIAL ACTS OF SAID LE1ISLA-
TURE AS PASSED IN THE YEAR 3. 23 .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . That a special election is hereby called
and directed to be held at the City Hall
in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from 8 o' clock
A. M. to sundown on the 30th day of July, A. D. 1929 ,
for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly
registered and qualified voters of said City the
question whether Chapter 9837 of the Special Acts of
the Legislature of the State of Florida as passed in
1923 , shall be ratified and become effective in the

City of Miami Beach , as stated in the notice of elec-
tion provided for in Section 6 of this resolution.
SECTION 2 . That the City Clerk , who is also super-
visor of re7istration, open the books
of said City from ten o' clock A. H. until four
o' clock P. M. each day, Sundays , holidays and half
holidays excepted, from this date until July 23rd,
1929 , for the purpose of registering those persons
who are qualified to register for such election.
SEOTIO. ,=. That E. Rodgers , Ben Battleand
H. 7.rattan Miller be and they are hereby
appointed inspectors and Hollis Bush is hereby ap-
pointed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conduct-
ing said election at the time and place aforesaid.
SECTION 4. That said inspectors and clerk shall cer-
tify the result of said election to said
City Council within five days after the holding of
said election.
SECTION a. That notice of said election shall be
published once a week for a period of
four consecutive weeks next preceding such election
in the Miami Beach Sun , a newspaper published at
Miami Beach , Florida, and of general circulation in
said City , and shall be posted for the same time in.
three conspicuous places in said City , to-wit: at
the City Hall , at the Miami Beach Police Station and
at Fire Station No. 2.
SECTION 6: That said Notice of Election shall be in
substantially the following form:

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HERJBY 1IVEN That by
virtue of a resolution duly passed and adop-
ted by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, an election will be held at
the City Hall of said City from 8 o' clock
A. M. until sundown of said day on the 30th .
day of July, A. D. 1929 , for the purpose of
voting on the following; proposition, to-wit:
I Shall Chapter 9837 of the Special Acts
of the Legislature of the State of
Florida, passed in the year 1923 , en-
titled, "AN ACT of the Legislature of
the State of Florida, Iranting to the
City of Miami Beach, a Municipal Cor

:Oration of Florida, Powers in Addition
to Those Contained in this Charter; to
Regulate and Restrict the Height , Num-
ber of Stories and Size of Buildings
and Other Structures , the Percentage
of Lot that may be Occupied, the Size
of Yards , Courts and Other Open Spaces ,
the Density of Population and the Regu-
lation and Use of Buildings , Structures
and Land for Trade , Industry , Residence
or Other Purposes; and granting Powers
to Carry into Effect such Regulation
and Restriction" be ratified and become
effective in the City of Miami Beach ,
Florida?
Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed
to conduct said election at said time and place.
The registration books will be open from
ten o' clock A. M. until four o' clock P. M. each
day, Sundays , holidays and half holidays excep-
ted, from this date until and including July
23rd, 1929 , for the regAstration of persons quali-
fied to register for said election.

SECTION 8 . This resolution shall be effective im-
