RESOLUTION NO. 2033
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLOR-
IDA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF A
SPECIAL ELECTION HELD JULY 30th,
1929.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
That said City Council, acting as a Canvass Board,
has this day publicly canvassed the returns of an elec-
tion held in said City on July 30th , 1929, which canvass
was made solely, exclusively and entirely from the re-
turns of certificates of the Inspectors and Clerk who
held and conducted said election, and from such canvass
has found that upon the question: ' Shall Chapter 937
of the Special Acts of the Legislature of the State of
Florida, passed in the year 1923 , entitled, "AN ACT of
the Legislature of the State of Florida , Granting to
the City of Miami Beach, a Municipal Corporation of
Florida, Powers in Addition to Those Contained in this
Charter; to Regulate and Restrict the Height , Number
of Stories and Size of Buildings and Other Structures ,
the Percentage of Lot that may be Occupied, the Size
of Yards , Courts and Other Open Spaces, the Density of
Population and the Regulation and Use of Buildings ,
Structures and Land for Trade, Industry, Residence or
Other Purposes; and Granting Powers to Carry into Ef-
fect such Regulation and Restriction" be ratified and
become effective in the City of Miami Bepch, Florida?'
164 votes were cast , of which 163 voters voted "YES"
and 1 voter voted "NO" .
And that a majority of the votes cast upon said
question was for the ratification of said Act of the
Levislature.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of August , A. D.
1929.
