Resolution 2144 RESOLUTION NO. 21144 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA , CALLING AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF $ 145 ,000.00 FOR THE VARIOUS PURPOSES IN THIS RE- SOLUTION STATED. WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach , Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election notice provided by the following resolution, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1 : That subject to the authorization of the duly re- gistered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein , participating in the election which is herein called , the negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida , shall be issued in the amounts and for the several purposes set forth in the election notice provid- ed by this resolution. SECTION 2: That a special election is hereby called and di- rected to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach , Florida , from eight o'clock A. M. , until sundown on the 11th day of March , A. D. 1930 , for the pur- pose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein , the two separate questions as to whether the bonds mentioned in each searate question shall be authorized , which two questions are set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution . SECTION 3: That the City Clerk , who is also supervisor of registration , open the registration books of said City from ten o 'clock A. M. until five o 'clock P. M. each day, Sundays , holidays and half-holidays excepted , from this date until March 4th, 1930 , for the purpose of regis- tering those persons who are qualified to register for such election. SECTION 4: That A. L. Bowes , M. H. Farr and Rose Weiss be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and John N. Ramey is hereby appointed clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting said election at the time and place aforesaid , which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. SECTION 5: That said inspectors and clerk shall certify the result of said election to said City Council within five days after the holding of said election. SECTION 6: That four weeks notice of said election be given by the Mayor of said City by posting, or causing to be posted, a notice hereinafter provided for at least twenty-eight days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous places in said City , to-wit : at the City Hall , at the Police Station and at the Liberty Avenue Fire Station , and by publishing the same once each week for four consecu- tive weeks in the Miami Beach Sun , a newspaper published in .0. Miami Beach, Florida , and of general circulation in said City. SECTION Z.: That said Notice of Election shall be in substan- tially the following form: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Flor- ida, and will be held at the City Hall in said City on the 11th day of March , A. D. 1930 , at which there shall be sub- mitted to the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein , the following questions : (a) Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida , issue nego- tiable coupon bonds in the sum of #70 ,000.00 for the pur- pose of constructing bridges across waterways within said Citr7 (b) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue nego- tiable coupon bonds in the sum of $ 75 ,000.00 for the pur- pose of extending and developing its waterworks system? Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said. time and place . The registration books will be open from ten o'clock A. M. until five o 'clock P. M. each day , Sundays , holidays and half- holidays excepted , from this date until March 4th, 1930 , for the registration of persons qualified to register for said election. LOUIS F.
