Resolution 2237 4" • „ RESOLUTION NO. 2237 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN FOR THE 1930-1931 SEASON, PRO- VIDING FOR A DIRECTOR OF SUCH CAMPAIGN, AND PROVIDING COMPENSATION FOR SUCH DIRECTOR WHEREAS, Steve Hannagan has submitted to the City Council the following proposal: "As counsel for this department , known internation- ally as the Miami Beach News Service, I offer to direct the publicity requirements of the City of Miami Beach, throughout the year, intensively during the months when it will be most effective; supervise the preparation of necessary booklets, an advertising campaign for magazines and news- papers, and other endeavors designed to be of Ps- sistance in the healthy growth of business at Miami Beach. With the understanding that I may counsel other clients, whose alms are in common with your civic efforts, not in competition nor disrupting the same service I have performed for your body and municipality in the past , I offer my services for $ 5, 000, payable in suitable allotments during November and December 1930, and January, February and March 1931; reporting November 1st and remain- ing until the last week in March. " NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That said above oroposal be accepted, and that the said Steve Hannagan be employed to conduct said publicity campaign for the sea- son 1930-1931, as outlined above, and at a compensation of $ 5,000 gross, to be paid in ten semi-monthly allot- ments, the first allotment to be paid November 1, 1930, and the last allotment to be paid on or before the last week of March, 1931, and with the further understanding that Mr. Hannagan is to be on hand to direct the said publicity campaign during the period beginning November 1, 1930 and ending the last week in March, 1931. SECTION 2. That said City Council herewith com- pliments Mr . Hannagan and expresses to him its sincere appreciation for the splendid result obtained, this year by the Miami Bench News Service.
