Resolution 2332 RESOLUTION NO. 2332
WHEREAS, National Geographic Society is to-day
celebrating twenty-fifth anniversary of association
of John Oliver La Gorce with that institution, and
WHEREAS, John Oliver La Gorce was one of the
earliest winter visitors to City of Miami Beach, Flor-
ida, lending to its infant days not only his presence,
but his unusual talent without thought of worldly gain,
and
WHEREAS, in appreciation of such service one of
City ' s islands and its most beautiful golf course bears
end perpetuates his name, and
WHEREAS, John Oliver La Gorce is held in highest
esteem by its citizenry, its government and its winter
visitors,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Miami
Beach join with the National Geographic Society in con-
gratulating John Oliver Le. Gorce upon his long and use-
ful service in his distinguished field and prays that
long life will preserve to mankind his kindly, thought-
ful and constructive guidance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of November, A. D.
1930.
