Resolution 2421 RESOLUTION NO. 2 -21
WHEREAS, Collins Avenue from the northern lim-
its of the City of Miami Beach south to Fifth Street,
of said City, and Fifth Street of said City from said
Collins Avenue west to what is known as the County
Causeway, is the main thoroughfare used by persons
coming into Miami Beach from the north and thence into
Miami across said causeway, and
WHEREAS, the nature of said thoroughfare, and
the nature and amount of said traffic is such that it
should be considered one of the main arteries of traf-
fic of Southeastern Florida and of the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and
City Council of the City of Miami Beach that we re-
quest our Senator John W. Watson and our Representa-
tives, the Honorable Messrs. S. Pierre Robineau,
Daniel Chappell and J. Walter Kehoe, to introduce into
the present session of the Florida State Legislature a
Bill, whereby the State Highway Department shall be
authorized and directed to take over and maintain said
thoroughfare as a State Highway.
