RESOLUTION NO. 2422
WHEREAS, there are a number of employees of
the City of Miami Beach who are not residents of
said City, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable that all mun-
icipal employees reside in Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, the City Council feels that it is to
the best interest of the citizens as well as of the
City that only Miami Beach residents be employed by
the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that all mun-
icipal employees who are not now residing in Miami
Beach be requested to become residents of Miami
Beach on or before July 1, 1931, and that failure
so to do shall be grounds for dismissal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it be the policy
of the City in the future to employ, with the excep-
tion of day laborers , only residents of Miami Beach.
Actual residence on Miami Beach for a period of at
least seven months each year shall be sufficient to
qualify one as a resident for the purpose and intent
of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this
Resolution be sent all municipal employees.
