DUBBIN /04".$17 /=.. / INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO BUSINESS LICENSE ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PRORATION OF LICENSE FEE FOR APPLICATION SUBMITTED AFTER JULY 1ST OF THE LICENSE YEAR Commissioner David Pearlson requested the attached Ordinance which amends the City' s Business License Ordinance, Chapter 20 of the City Code, to provide that new businesses applying for an occupational license at a given location only after July 1st of a license year shall pay one-fourth of the fee normally charged for the entire license year. Business licenses are issued on October 1st of each year_ .. Currently, the ordinance provides only for a one-half fee proration for applicants seeking a license after May 1st of the license year. This would allow for a further reduction (to one-fourth the normal fee) for businesses applying when only one-fourth of the license year remains .
