Resolution 2635 RESOLUTION NO. 2635 WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, that the rate now in force for Gas at f .'Y Miami Beach furnished by the Peoples Gas Company and the rate for electric current at Miami Beach furnished by the Florida Power & Light Company, and the rate for telephone service at Miami Beach, furnished by the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, is far in excess of the cost of production and/or rendering the service plus depreciation on equipment and a reasonable interest on the fair market values of the properties and other proper expense. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said Peoples Gas Company, Florida Power & Light Company and the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company be and each of them are hereby ordered and directed to show cause before the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, within thirty days from the service of a copy of this resolution upon them, why said rates should not be reduced to a fair and equitable rate both to the consumer and to the Company. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be served forthwith upon each of the aforesaid companies by the City Clerk. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of June, A.
