Resolution 2672 RESOLUTION NO. 2672
WHEREAS, we have observed that some very effective
and permanent mosquito eradication work has been done this
summer in the Greater Miami Area through the efforts of
private citizens assisted by the three cities, Miami, Coral
also by
Gables and Miami Beach,/Dade County and largely financed
by Federal Funds, and
WHEREAS, it has been demonstrated that the breeding
places of these pests can be largely eliminated if the
work already started can be consistently followed up at
regular periods and to guarantee which a permanent organiza-
tion is necessary,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that we hereby endorse the
present effort being made to call a special election for the
purpose of creating Dade County into an Anti-Mosquito District
and urge our citizens who are free-holders to cooperate in this
effort by signing the necessary petitions now being circulated.
