Resolution 2692 1 .....mss RESOLUTION NO. 2692 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING EMPLOYMENT FOR PERMANENT RESIDENTS OF DADE COUNTY. WHEREAS, there are approximately twenty-three thousand (23,000) unemployed citizens in Dade County, Florida, and WHEREAS, the cities within the greater Miami area, as well as the local relief organizations have endeavored to carry the burden and relieve the distress among the unemployed, and WHEREAS, a large number of jobs will be open and available in the greater Miami area due to the approaching winter season, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, that we urgently request all hotel and apartment operators, merchants and all other em- ployers of labor on Miami Beach to give preference and priority to the permanent residents of Dade County on all jobs during the coming winter season. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all employment agencies in Miami Beach are urged to cooperate with the City in providing work for local people and residents of Dade County before placing any non-residents in any jobs.
