RESOLUTION NO. 2712
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City that all
employees live in Miami Beach so as to be available for
call and so that funds contributed by taxpayers for the
payment of salaries of employees will be spent in Miami
Beach and thereby to an extent relieve the burden of
taxes, and
WHEREAS, because of the approach of the winter season
and because of price inflation living costs have become
disproportionate to salaries and wages now being paid,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the sense
of this Council that nominal salary increases be made cover-
ing the months of December, January, February and March to
help offset the seasonal increase in living costs;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager or
a committee from the City Council be designated to make
recommendations to the City Council of appropriate amendments
to our salary ordinance, carrying out the sense of this
resolution.
