RESOLUTION SHOWING THE NECESSITY FOR FEDERAL FUNDS FOR CIVIL
WORK PROJECTS
BE IT PrSOLVED BY the City Council of OM City of
Mipmi ssaoh, County of Dade, State of Flori' , that the Civil
Works Administration, by its proposal for a work project for
miscellaneous improvements in Flamingo Park in accordance with
rel-submission sketches, which is a public project for the
benefit of the general public , and not for the benefit of any
private interest , and the title to the property upon which the
work is to be performed is vested in the City of Miami Beach,/
of Dade County, State of Florida.
The project embraces work thrt needs to be done for the general
good of the community ,that there are no appropriated public
funds avqilable, nor any other way in which local public funds
ode
may beAavailable with which to do this work, and that unless
Federal Funds are used for this purpose, the said work cannot be
done at this time, nor at any time within the near future; that
any material over and above 30% of the total copt of Project will

TEN-nI8 COURTS
600 cubic yards high grade yellow clay. Clay shall be free from
roots, leaf mould or other objectionable organic matter.
Local Clay known as Allapattah Clay may be used. All marl from
the surface of the ground of theClay Pit shall be removed to
depth of clean, pure yellow clay which has no trace of vegetation
and clsy excavation shall be discontinued at the depth where
clay begins to lose its yellow color or changing to grey.

520 lineal feet 10' high tennis court backstop, according to
following specifications.
"Backstop shall be of No. 11 gauge wire 1-3/4" mesh, and
all wire, posts, braces and fittings shall be heavily hot-dip
galvanized. End, corner, angle and brace posts shall be 2+" ey.D;
line posts 2" 0.D. top rail and braces 1 5/8" 0.D. There shall be
sufficient posts so that they may be spaced on 10' centers and of
such length that they can be set in concrete foundations 36" deep.
Suitable braces shall be furnished for all end, corner and angle
poets. All necessary fastenings shall be furnished. The materials
shall be of such dimensions that the finished backstop shall be 10'
above the surface of the courts.
