Resolution 2842 RESOLUTION NO. 2842
WHEREAS it appears that rates being charged residents
of Miami Beach for electrical energy are discriminatory and
excessive,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach that the City Manager be and he is
hereby authorized and instructed to investigate rates being
charged for electrical energy in the City of Miami Beach, and
prepare a report of the cost of construction of a municipally
owned electrical plant, together with an estimate of the proba-
ble revenues to be derived from tae operation of such a plant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVE that the Florida Power and Light
Company be and it is hereby requested to make available to
authorized representatives of the City all of their books of
account insofar as they apertain to revenues for electrical
service in the city of Miami Beach and said Florida Power and
Light Company is further requested to furnish authorized repre-
sentatives of the City such reports as may be required from
time to time in the investigation of rates now being charged
for electri cad. energy in the city of Miami Beach.
