Resolution 2891 RESOLUTION NO. 2891
WHEREAS the City is the owner of approximately
35,000.00 worth of tax sale certificates acquired
from the sale of taxes for the years 1929 and 1930.
WHEREAS because of failure of owners of certain
property to pay taxes and thereby bear their just
share of the cost of City government, the tax burden
on other property is likely to become disproportionate
to benefits received , and
WHEREAS certificates issued for 1929 and 1930 taxes
created a. lien which is inferior in dignity to the liens
created by certificates issued in subsequent years, and
because the accumulating tax liens and tax certificates
together with accruing penalties in many cases has reached
such proportions as to jeopardize the City' s equity
acquired by virtue of its 1929 and 1930 certificates,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R.t. OLVED by the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach that the City Clerk be and he
is hereby authorized and instructed to cause such action
to be taken as will bring about the immediate foreclosure
of all tax certificates which the City acquired and now
holds applicable to taxes levied for the years 1929 and 1930, 11
or proceed to acquire title to said properties, for the City,
by Tax Deed.
