Resolution 3005 RESOLUTION NO. 3005 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PRO- VIDING FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER lath, 1934. WHEREAS for the purpose of holding and conducting general elections of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, said City has been divided into voting precincts or election districts with polling places therein as follows: Precinct No. 6: That part of the City of Miami Beach located north of Fifty-first Street , the polling place of which shall be the BOARDWALK FILLING STATION, 6925 Collins Avenue, of said City. Precinct No. 30: That part of the City of Miami Beach south of Fifty-first Street and North of Lincoln Road, and that part of the Venetian Causeway which runs in an easterly and westerly direction across what is known as the Venetian Islands, the polling place of which shall be what is known as the LIBERTY AVENUE FIRE STATION located on Liberty Avenue, of said City. Precinct No. 31: That part of the City of Miami Beach bounded on the south by Fifth Street and what is known as the County Causeway, on the east by Meridian Avenue, on the north by Lincoln Road and the Venetian Highway and on the west by the City limits of said City, the polling place of which shall be the BANDSTAND IN FLAMINGO PARK of said City. Precinct No. 32: That part of the City of Miami Beach bounded on the south by Fifth Street, on the west by Meridian Avenue, on the north by Lincoln Road and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, the polling place of which shall be the CITY HALL of said City. Precinct No. 33: That part of the City of Miami Beach south of Fifth Street and what is known as the County Causeway, the polling place of which shall be in the MIAMI BEACH KENNELL CLUB on Collins Avenue south of Bis- cayne Street of said City. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That for the purpose of holding and conducting the general election of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, on December lath, l934, five (5) election boards be provided, the registration books of said City be divided into five (5 ) parts cor- responding to the precincts or election districts as above set forth, and that for said purpose inspectors and clerks be and are hereby appointed as follows: PRECINCT NO. 6: As Inspectors: Edward Pife W. Qui gl ey lk' All of which above names, the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. SECTION 2: That said general election be held at the polling places for the respective voting precincts as above set forth, and all electors shall vote at the polling place in the precinct in which the registration books of said City show that said electors reside. SECTION 3: That said election be held from S o'clock A. . . , until sundown on December lath, 1934, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and five (5) City Councilmen, all of which persons shall hold office for the term of two years, and/or until their suc- cessors are regularly elected and qualified, except that the two Councilmen who shall receive the highest number of votes at such election shall hold office for the term of four years, and/or until their successors are regularly elected and qualified. SECTION 4: That thirty days , notice of said election shall be given by the Mayor of said City by posting the notice herein- after provided for thirty days in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, to-wit: At the Police Station, at Fire Station No. 2 and at the City Hall, and shall be published once each week for four (4) consecutive weeks next preceding such election in the Miami Beach Times, a newspaper published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida. SECTION 5: That said inspectors and clerks shall certify the re- sult of said election to said City Council immediately after the holding of said election. -2- SECTION 6: That notice of election shall be in substantially the following form: "NOTICE OF ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a general election will be held in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from o o 'clock A. M. , until sundown on December 18th, 1934, for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City: One person to fill the office of Mayor. Five persons as members of the City Council, the two receiving the highest number of votes as Councilmen to hold office for the term of four years. All other officers so elected shall hold office for the term of two years. Larrick and Wm. B. Buchanan. PRECINCT NO. 31: As Inspectors: Charles Mack, W. C. Wills, John L. Berry. As Clerk: M. L. Daye PRECINCT NO. 32: As Inspectors : Sam Ellis, George Hammar, R. D. Barlow, J. Y. Sparks, Donald L. McMann and George McElroy. As Clerks: Frank B. Vasey and Vera M. Edelmann. PRECINCT NO. 33: As Inspectors : George Harman, Mrs. Olive Delahunt, Jeremiah Weiss, George H. Callahan, Thomas McCoy and Milton H. Farr. As Clerks: Maurice L. Meyers and Frank V. Quigley. The registration books of said City will be open for the purpose of registering any person qualified to vote in such election until and including December 11th, 1934. Persons properly registering who have paid their 1932 and 1933 poll taxes on or before December 11th, 1934, will be qualified to vote in said election. A.
