Resolution 3008 RESOLUTION NO. 3008 WHEREAS, it is our belief that the present Naval and Coast defensesof the United States are inadequate to offer serious defence against an invading enemy, and WHEREAS, it is our belief that adequate air forces, placed at strategic points along our coasts, inland fron- tiers and on our insular possessions would be a powerful help to our present equipment in discouraging or repelling invasion, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF L ANI BEACH, FLORIDA, in regular meeting assembled, that we hereby urge upon the President and the Congress of the United States, the Federal Aviation Com- mission, the Tar Department , and all other Governmental Departments directly or indirectly responsible for the National Defense, that the Ua.ited States Government make further and adequate provision for the National Defense by greatly expanding the Air Forces of the Nation, estab- lishing a system of Air Frontier Defense bases along our coasts and inland frontiers, with adequate supplemental bases at strategically located interior points; that simi- lar provision be made for our insular possessions, and that such Air Forces be properly equipped and especially trained in frontier and coast defense problems; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolu- tion be sent to the President of the United States, the Federal Aviation Commission, the Chairmen of the Military Affairs Committees of the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, and to the Senators and Congress- men from this State.
