AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE MIAMI BEACH CITY
CODE ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION," AMENDING
ARTICLE 3, ENTITLED "AGENCIES, BOARDS, AND
COMMITTEES," AMENDING DIVISION 25, ENTITLED
"TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING COMMITTEE," BY
AMENDING THE COMPOSITION OF THE COMMITTEE TO
SUBSTITUTE REPRESENTATION FROM THE
WASHINGTON AVENUE TASK FORCE FOR THE
WASHINGTON AVENUE ASSOCIATION;PROVIDING FOR
REPEALER, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Washington Avenue Association is no longer in existence, but has been
replaced by the Washington Avenue Task Force which is concerned with issues relating to
Washington Avenue and which studies and proposes legislation relative thereto; and
WHEREAS,the Transportation and Parking Committee of the City currently provides that
its members shall be appointed by the Mayor and City Commissioners and is to be composed of
other members designated by certain community organizations which currently includes the
Washington Avenue Association; and
WHEREAS, the Washington Avenue Task Force is the proper entity from which the
Transportation and Parking Committee membership should be selected and should be substituted
for the Washington Avenue Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION as follows:
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT TO SECTION 2-190.94 OF THE CITY CODE.
That Section 2-190.94(4)entitled"Composition" of Division 25 entitled "Transportation and
Parking Committee" of Chapter 2 of the Miami Beach City Code is hereby amended as follows:
Sec. 2-190.94. Composition
The committee shall consist of 19 voting members. The mayor and city
commissioners shall each make one appointment, with the other members of the
committee to be composed of members from the following community organizations,
each of which must designate a permanent coordinating representative:
(4) Washington Avenue Asseeiation Task Force.
SECTION 2. REPEALER.
That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY.
If any section,subsection,clause or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid,the remainder
shall not be affected by such invalidity.
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall take effect on the 3rd day of July , 1999 .
