RESOLUTION PROTESTING AGAINST THE
MODIFICATION OF A PERMIT ISSUED TO
MR. THOMAS H. HCROBIN ON JANUARY
20th, 1926, FOR TIE DREDGING OF A
CERTAIN CHANNEL, WHEREBY THE WIDTH
OF SAID CHANNEL WOULD BE REDUCED FROM
?5 FEET TO 50 FEET.
WHEREAS, application has been made to the War Department ,by
Mr. Thomas H. Horobin of Coral Gables, Fla. , for modification of
a permit issued to him on January 20, 1926, granting authority
to dredge a channel 75 feet wide easterly from the Indian Creek
Channel, between Isle of Normandy and the mainland, said appli-
cation now seeking to reduce the width of said channel to 50
feet and to construct a bridge across said channel, and
WHEREAS, this channel as constructed has in it so many
sharp angular bends that the natural flow of water through
same is already sluggish and any reduction in the width of
said channel will have a further and serious tendency to con-
struct and impede the natural flow and no doubt will have a
tendency towards stagnation resulting in an unsanitary con-
dition,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF •
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that we by this resolution
do hereby protest against the proposed work and pray the
War Department to refrain from issuing a permit modifying
the original permit as to the width of said channel.
