A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CERTAIN PLAT OF SUNSET
ISLANDS ENTITLED "SECOND REVISED PLAT OF SUNSET
ISLANDS", A SUBDIVISION OF A PART OF SECTION 28,
TOWNSHIP 53, SOUTH, RANGE 42, EAST, IN MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, AND ACCEPTING THE SEVERAL HIGHWAYS,
STREETS, BRIDGE SITES AND THE PARK DEDICATED ON
SAID REVISED PLAT TO THE PUBLIC USE; ALSO VACATING
AND ABANDONING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SUNSET DRIVE, AS
SHAT BY THE SAID SECOND REVISED PLAT OF SUNSET
ISLANDS, LYING BETWEEN CERTAIN LOTS OF ISLAND
NO. 2 AND ISLAND NO. 3, IN THE EVENT THE BRIDGE NOW
CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN SAID ISLANDS NO.2 AND NO. 3
SHOULD EVER BE REMOVED, ABANDONED OR DISCONTINUED.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida:
Section 1. Whereas the Sunset Islands Company, a Florida corporation,
has caused to be prepared and has executed a certain plat of certain lands
owned by it in Section 28, Township 53, South, Range 42, East, in the City of
Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida, which said plat is entitled "2nd Revised
Plat of Sunset Islands," and has, by appropriate words written on said plat,
dedicated to the public use for highway, street, bridge and park purposes the
highways, streets, bridge sites and park shown on said plat and described in
the dedication thereof, and has filed with the City Council a blue-print of
said plat and has exhibited said original plat to the said City Council.
Section 2. NOV!, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the said plat be, and the same is, hereby
approved, end that each and every of the several highways, streets, bridge sites
and the park dedicated on or by the said plat be, and the same are, hereby
accepted by the said City; and the President of the City Council and the City
Engineer be, and they are, hereby directed to indorse such approval on the
original of said plat and deliver the same to the said Company.
Section 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, that the said City of Miami Beach, Florida, vacates and
abandons and it does hereby vacate and abandon as provided in the dedication
as set out in said plat all rights, claims or demands of the said City to those
two portions of Sunset Drive as shown by the said 2nd Revised Plat of Sunset
Islands, one portion of which lies between Lot 1 of Block 2-H, and Lot 30 of
Block 2-D, of said Island No. 2, and the other portion of which lies between
Lot 1 of Block 3-D and Lot 24 of Block 3-H of said Island No. 3, and also the
bridge connecting said parcels of land and the submerged lands lying under said
bridge.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this March 18th , A.D. 1936.
