Resolution 3672 RESOLUTION NO. 3672
WHEREAS, the number of night clubs ooerated within the
corporate limits of the City of Miami Beach has increased greatly
from season to season and at a rate far out of proportion to the
increase in Population and the growth of the city; and
WHEREAS, numerous citizens of the City of Miami Beach
have urged the City Council to take stens to limit the number
of permits to be issued for the operation of night clubs; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this body that the granting
of permits for the operation of night clubs other than those
night clubs heretofore operating under permits duly and regularly
issued would be injurious to and demoralizing to the usual,
ordinary and legitimate business operations of the citizens of
the City of Miami Beach and injurious to their morals, welfare,
safety, and convenience;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Miami Peach does hereby record itself as opposed to
the granting of permits for the operation of night clubs at
locations other than those at which night clubs have heretofore
been operated under permits duly and regularly issued, and does
hereby ado )t the policy of limiting the operation of such resorts
to locations heretofore operatedas such until such time as the
natural growth of the City may make it possible to grant additional
permits for such resorts without endangering the public welfare,
safety, morals and convenience.
