My dear Carl:
Your very gracious treatment of me is but characteristic. Frankly, I
was not surprised by it because I was sure that the old flame of
friendship lighted when you and Farl Kiser and I were dreaming day -dreams
on Second Street together, was still alive.
I am much interested in see Ing Miami. They tell me you have brought
about a real transformation. Tile are planning to leave here about
February eleventh. Just as soon as we know definitely I will wire you
because I do not want to add to your inconvenience in a busy season. I
have a letter from Mrs. Ansberry today in which she says there is a
possibility of our getting a Flamingo cottage. That would be delightful.
We will have two small children with us and the cottage life for them
would doubtless be better than living in a hotel, although we are anxious
to be under the Flamingo wing.
Tell mo now, man to man whether it gets too warm in Miamit in March. I
would like to feel I can stay unci11 the first of April. Forget you are
a southern propagandist and tell me the truth.

We will settle the old Dixie Highway score when we meet. I will certainly1
bring my fishing•tackle .with me. It will be a real delight to reminisce
and go back over the trails of old.
