Morales, City Manager DATE: February 12, 2018 ER TO COMMISSION City Commission SUBJECT: Government Finance Officers Aspociation (GFOA) Award of Financial Reporting Achievement for the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Reporting (CAFR) for the Fiscal Year Ended September 30, 2016 The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform the Mayor and Commission that the City has received the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement and presented a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the preparation of the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the Fiscal Year Ended September 30, 2016. This Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The award of Financial Reporting Achievement was awarded to the Finance Department, City of Miami Beach, for preparing the award-winning CAFR. This is the thirtieth (30th) consecutive year that the City has received this prestigious award. Please join me in recognizing the Finance Department Staff for all their work on this report.
