Resolution 3788 • RESOLUTION NO. 3788 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF $2,313,000.00 FOR PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election notice provided by the following resolution: NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: That subject to the authorization of the duly SECTION 1: registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein, participating in the election according to law, which is hereinafter called., negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sums and for the purposes stated in the notice of election provided in Section 7 of this resolution. That a special election is hereby called and SECTION 2: directed to be held in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from eight o'clock A. M. until sundown on the 26th day of JANUARY, A. D. 1937 for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholderstherein, the question whether bonds of said City shall be issued in the sums and for the purposes stated in the notice of election provided for in Section 7 of this resolution. That the City Clerk, who is also supervisor of SECTION 3: registration, open the books of said City from nine otclock A. M. until five o'clock P. M. each day, Sundays and holidays and halfpholidays excepted, from this day until January 21st , 1937, for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified to register for this election. �1.• For the purpose of holding and conducting said SECTION 4: election the City of Miami Beach has been divided into voting precincts or election districts with polling places therein as follows: PRECINCT NO. 6: That part of the City of Miami Beach located North of FIFTY•.FIRST STREET, the polling place of which shall be CLEMMER'S PHARMACY, 7100 Collins Avenue, in said City. PRECINCT NO. 30: That part of the City of Miami Beach south of FIFTY-FIRST STREET and north of LINCOLN ROAD and the VENETIAN CAUSEWAY which runs in an easterly and westerly direction across what is known as the Venetian Islands and Belle Isle , the polling place of which shall be the LIBERTY AVENUE FIRE STATION, located at 2327 Liberty Avenue in said City. PRECINCT NO. 31: That part of the City of Miami Beach bounded on the south by FIFTH STREET and what is known as the COUNTY CAUSEWAY, on the east by MERIDIAN AVENUE, on the north by LINCOLN ROAD and the Venetian Way, and on the west by the CITY LIMITS of said City, the polling place of which shall be at the BANDSTAND IN FLAMINGO PARK, in said City. PRECINCT NO. 32: That part of the City of Miami Beach bounded on the south by FIFTH STREET, on the west by MERIDIAN AVENUE, on the north by LINCOLN ROAD and on the east by the ATLANTIC OCEAN, the polling place of which shall be at the CITY HALL in said City. PRECINCT NO. 33: That part of the City of Miami Beach south of FIFTH STREET and what is known as the COUNTY CAUSEWAY, the pollingplace of which shall be at the MIAMI BEACH KENNL CLUB on Collins Avenue south of Biscayne Street in said City. All being places where elections are usually held in said municim pality. All electors shall vote at the polling places in the voting precinct in which the City Registration Books show that said electors reside. That thirty days' notice of said election SECTION NO. 6 shall be given by publication in a newspaper published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, wherein said election shall be held. Such publication shall be made at least once in each week for four consecutive weeks during said period of thirty days. That said notice of election shall be in substan. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of One Hundred Fortyf..four Thousand Dollars ($144,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 44% per annum, for the purpose of constructing sanitary sewer extensions together with laterals? Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Three Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ( 3$0,000.00)with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 41% per annum, for the purpose of constructing a storm sewer system? 04, Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars (*290,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 4 % per annum, for the purpose of paving portions of Collins Avenue together with necessary protective works, between Twenty—fourth Street and Thirtieth Street ana between. Forty..fourth Street and the north city limits of Miami Beach, Florida? "5, Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida,issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Thirty.five Thousand Dollars ($35,000,00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 42% per annum, for the purpose of building a bridge across Collins Canal at Washington Avenue? "6, Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars (*50,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 41.% per annum, for the purpose of building and equipping a police station? 07. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Thirty.seven Thousand Dollars ($37,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 4/0 per annum, for the purpose of building and equipping a fire station? Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Three Hundred Seventy.••five Thousand Dollars ($375,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 420 per annum, for the purpose of purchasing a golf course on North Normandy Isle?
