Resolution 3837 • • • RESOLUTION NO. 3837 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA, • FINDING AS TO THE NUMBER OF FREEHOLDERS LEGALLY QUALIFIED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BOND ELECTION HELD JANUARY 26TH, 1937, AND CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SAID BOND ELECTION AND DECLARING THE RESULT TO BE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN THE SUM OF 0,313,000.00 FOR PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED. WHEREAS, the City Clerk and Registrar of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has certified that the total number of qualified electors residing in said City , as were legally qualified to participate in • the Bond Election helc in said City on January 26th, 1937, was 1148 , and WHEREAS, this City Council has made a canvass of the returns of the Certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks who held and conducted said Bond Election held on January 26th, 1937 , such canvass having been made solely , exclusively and entirely from such returns, NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA, that we do hereby find teat the total number of qualified electors residing in said CitY as were legally qualified to participate in the Bond Election held in said City on January 26th, 1937, was 1148 , and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby find that the total number of votes cast in said election in favor of the approval of the bonds and the total number of votes cast in said election against the approval of the bonds were as follows: Upon the question: 1. "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Nine Hundred Two Thousand Dollars ( $902.,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not rexceeding 44% per annum, for the purpose of constructing an outlet together with force mains, pumps, and appurtenances for the disposal of sanitary sewage? " 791 votes were cast , of which 753 votes were "For Bonds" and 38 •4 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 2. "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida., issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of One Hundred Forty-- Four Thousand Dollars ( $144,000.00) with interest at a rate here— atter to be determined, not exceeding 4+% per annum, for the purpose of constructing sanitary sewer extensions together with laterals? " 796 votes were cast , of which 748 votes were "For Bonds" and 68 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 3. "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida , issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Three Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars 4380,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 42% per annum, for the purpose of constructing a storm sewer system? " 785 votes were cast of which 746 votes were "For Bonds" and 39 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 4. " hall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ( $290 ,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 4 % per annum, for the purpose of paving portions of Collins Avenue together with necessary protective workfi , between Twenty-Fourth . Street and Thirtieth Street , and between Forty-Fourth Street and the north. city limits of Miami Beach, Florida? " 775 votes were cast of which 694 votes were "For Bonds" and sl votes were "Against Bonds ". Upon the question: 5. "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ( $35,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 4% per annum, for the purpose of build- ing a bridge across Collins Canal at Washington Avenue? " 769 votes were cast of which 698 votes were"Tor Bonds" and 71 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 6. "Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ( $50 ,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined , not exceeding 44% per annum, for the purpose of building and equipping a police station? " 782 votes were cast , of which 719 votes were "1,7or Bonds" and 63 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 7. "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Thirty-Seven Thousand Dollars ( $37 ,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 44% per annum, for the purpose of build- ing and equipping a fire station? " 780 votes were cast of which 720 votes were "For ds" and 60 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 8. "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ( 5100 ,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding )4 % per annum, for the purpose of con- structing a water storage structure , together with necessary connecting mains and appurtenances? " 782 votes were cast of which 719 votes were "Forte" and 63 votes were "Against Bonds". Upon the question: 9. "%all the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Three Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ( $375,000.00) with interest at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 420 per annum, for the purpose of purchasing a golf course on North Normandy Isle? " 738 votes were cast of which 564 votes were "Far Bonds" and 174 votes were Against Bonds". and, WHEREAS, a majority of the total number of qualified electors residing in said City, Las were legally qualified to participate in said Bond Election, did vote therein , and 1 WHEREAS, a majority of those electors voting did vote in favor of the approval of the bonds, NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby declare that the issuance of said Bonds in the aggregate sum of $2,313,000.00, has been duly and legally approved by the voters, as provided by law.
