Resolution 73-14107 RESOLUTION NO. 73-14107
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach has duly found and determined that an emergency exists
within the City affecting the present and the future needs ,
the good order, convenience, prosperity and the general wel-
fare of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach for lack of
an updated development plan for the South Shore area of the
City, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach is greatly concerned that unplanned development of
said area will be seriously detrimental to the general wel-
fare, and
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach is taking steps
for the formulation of a comprehensive development plan of
said area, and
WHEREAS , in the formulation of such Plan numerous
conferences and prolonged study will be required not only
by the City Council but also with and by interested citizens
representing the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that upon the
adoption of this Resolution no permit shall be issued for
a period of six (6) months from the date hereof for the
construction of any building or improvement within the area
bounded by Sixth Street on the North, the Atlantic Ocean on
the East, United States Government Cut on the South and
Biscayne Bay on the West for the purpose of considering the
formulation and adoption of a comprehensive development plan
for said area.
