Resolution 73-14109 RESOLUTION NO. 73-14109
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, deems it to be necessary for the welfare
of said City and the inhabitants thereof to acquire for
the purpose of completing the Civic-Convention Center
Complex land plan, the following described parcel of land
situate, lying and being in the City of Miami Beach, Dade
County, Florida, to wit :
S. 50 ' (less W. 3 ' thereof) of the N. 100 '
of Lot 1, Block 7A, of GOLF COURSE SUBDIV-
ISION, as recorded in Plat Book 6, at page
26, of the Public Records of Dade County,
Florida, and that part of the bridle path
lying east of the S . 50 ' of the N. 100 ' of
Lot 1, and the N. 50 ' (less the W. 3 ' ) of
the S. 116. 9' of Lot 1, Block 7A, and that
part of the bridle path lying east of the
N. 50 ' of the S. 116. 9 ' per Plat of Golf
Course Subdivision,
together with the personal property and fixtures situate
therein, said property being also known as Meri-Lane Apart-
ments, 1915-1925 Meridian Avenue, Miami Beach, Dade County,
Florida, and
WHEREAS, Mr. S . Z. Bennett, the City' s Real Estate
Consultant has negotiated with the owner of the hereinabove
described property for the purchase of said property by the
City from the owner and his negotiations have culminated in
a proposed contract wherein and whereby the owner of said
property agrees to sell and the City agrees to buy the said
parcel of land, personal property and fixtures situate there-
in and thereon at the purchase price of Five Hundred and
Eighty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($587, 000. 00) cash, the pro-
posed transaction to be dbsed not later than October 23 ,
1973, but the owner to be entitled to possession of the
said property until June 30, 1974, and
WHEREAS, said proposed agreement contains and
sets forth other terms and conditions with which the City
Council is familiar, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and said City' s Real
Estate Consultant have recommended the approval and execu-
tion of said proposed agreement, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the
best interests of the City of Miami Beach and its inhabitants
that said contract be agreed to and entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby
accepts and approves the recommendation of the City Manager
and the said S . Z. Bennett and agrees to purchase the same
for the said sum of Five Hundred and Eighty-Seven Thousand
Dollars ($587, 000. 00) cash, subject to a suitable and
appropriate agreement for such purpose to be entered into
by the parties and to be approved by the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the proper financial
officers be and they are hereby authorized to make the
disbursements called for by said contract.
