Staff from all Parks programming facilities will be part of this presentation so that they can continue developing and learning effective methods on anti -bullying. Event: Free Infant & Toddler Water Safety Program Date: Begins March 6, 2018 (Tuesdays & Thursdays) Time: 10:00 a.m. — 10:45 a.m. Location: Scott Rakow Youth Center Pool (2700 Sheridan Ave) The Free Infant & Toddler Water Safety class is offered to Miami Beach residents ages 6 months - 5 years, Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 6th through May 31St. Swim diapers for all non -potty trained children is mandatory, adults are required in the pool with child. Event: Free March Challenge (Tennis Tournament) Date: March 11, 2018 Time: 10:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m. Location: North Shore Park Tennis Center (501 72nd Street) The City of Miami Beach and Miami Beach Tennis Academy invite you to a Men's Singles and Open Doubles tournament at North Shore Park Tennis Center. Men's Singles will consist of an 8 player draw level 4.0 and above on the hard courts, the Open Doubles will be for players level 3.0 or below and 3.0 and above. $20 refundable deposit required at the tennis office. Event: Common Threads Cooking Program — Cooking Skills & World Cuisine Date: Begins the Week of March 12, 2018 (10 -week sessions) Time: 4:00 p.m. — 6:00 p.m. Locations: Mondays (Scott Rakow Youth Center — 2700 Sheridan Ave.) Fridays (Normandy Isle Park — 7030 Trouville Esplanade) Young chefs in grades 6 - 12 from our after school Teen Club program will learn how to follow a recipe and prepare and cook ingredients. Event: Art Galley Night Date: March 14, 2018 Time: 7:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m. Location: T -Mobile Lincoln Road Store (738 Lincoln Road) The City of Miami Beach in partnership with T -Mobile will host an Art Gallery Night where our Parks and Recreation adult program participants will display their artwork. Refreshments and snacks will be served. Event: The Big Serve Miami Date: March 16, 2018 Time: 4:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. Location: Flamingo Tennis Center (1200 Meridian Ave.) Miami Beach Tennis Management will be hosting The Big Serve event at the Flamingo Park Tennis Center. Participants receive a t -shirt, a racket and a group lesson with one of the Tennis Pros. Event: 2nd Annual Miami Beach Youth Music Festival Date: March 17, 2018 Time: 5:00 p.m. — 10:00 p.m. Location: North Shore Band Shell (7275 Collins Ave) The City of Miami Beach in partnership with The Rhythm Foundation will host the 2nd Annual Miami Beach Youth Music Festival. This music festival presents young Miami Beach -based artists a special opportunity to perform live for a large audience on a professional stage. Get your rock on! Live performances, local musicians, pop-up skate park, interactive street art demonstrations, food and more! A suggested donation of $5 with all proceeds benefiting Miami Beach Senior High Rock Ensemble, Nautilus Middle School Music Academy, Fienberg Fisher K-8 Rock Ensemble and Young Musicians Unite. Event: Spring Eggstravaganza Date: March 24, 2018 Time: 10:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. Location: North Shore Park (501 72nd Street) Free admission, arts and crafts and photograph with the Bunny. Egg Hunt 11:00 a.m. Event: Spring Break Sports Camp Date: March 26-30, 2018 Time: 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. Location: Flamingo Park (Field House —12th Street and Michigan) Grades: 2nd — 8th Fees: $150 (MB Residents) $275 (Non -Residents) The City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department is offering for the first time a one week Spring Break Sports Camp that will encompass a variety of sports such as basketball, football, baseball, soccer and tennis. Register online at https://register.capturepoint.com/MiamiBeach Event: Surf Camp for Children with ASD Date: March 26-30, 2018 (Meet and Greet Sunday, March 25 @ Normandy Pool 11 a.m. 1:00 p.m.) Time: 9:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. Location: South Pointe Park (1 Washington Avenue) The University of Miami — Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UM -NSU CARD) is teaming up with the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department to host the 10th annual spring break surf camp for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) Monday, March 26th through Friday, March 30th. Participating children will spend the week focusing on swimming skills, basic oceanography, meteorology, open water surfing and most importantly, their own abilities. The educational component of camp will be held at South Pointe Park, 1 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, and the actual surfing component will be held on the beach adjacent to the park. In recognition of our 10 year anniversary, all former alumni of the Surf Camp will be invited to come on Friday, March 30, 2018 to surf and celebrate!
